Crispy Chickpeas Three Ways

Simple air fryer chickpeas that cook up golden and crisp, with three easy flavor blends so you can make a snacky batch for movie night, meal prep, or salad toppers.

Instructions

  • Drain and rinse canned chickpeas, then pat them very dry with a clean towel. Removing as much moisture as possible helps them crisp up.
  • Toss the chickpeas with a small amount of oil and your choice of seasonings. Try one of these flavor ideas:
    Spicy: chili powder, cayenne, garlic powder, and salt
    Smoky: smoked paprika, cumin, onion powder, and salt
    Herby: dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, and salt
  • Spread the chickpeas in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket once or twice, until they are crisp and lightly browned.

Notes

Let them cool for a few minutes before serving, which helps them firm up even more. Enjoy them as a crunchy snack or sprinkle them over salads and bowls for extra texture and plant-based protein.
