These crispy tofu bowls are simple, satisfying, and easy to customize with whatever veggies and grains you have on hand.
Instructions
Press extra-firm tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes. Toss the cubes with cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until they are lightly coated on all sides.
Arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 380°F for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket or turning the tofu halfway, until the cubes are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
While the tofu cooks, whisk together soy sauce or tamari, rice vinegar, a drizzle of maple syrup, and a little toasted sesame oil to make a quick glaze. When the tofu is hot and crisp, toss it in the glaze until coated.
Serve over warm rice or quinoa with steamed or roasted veggies, then finish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
This bowl has that takeout-style feel while still being lighter and fully plant-based. It’s perfect for weeknights and easy to adjust based on whatever vegetables you already have in the fridge.
